Collector, artist, expert and restorer, Régis Mathieu has been running the famous Lustrerie that bears his name for over 30 years.

More than just a business, over the years he has built a unique place dedicated to this legendary object that lights up the most beautiful homes.

To listen to Régis Mathieu talk about the history of chandeliers over the centuries is to suddenly realise the historical, architectural, social and aesthetic significance of these sculptures of light.

Unjustly neglected by art historians and contemporary designers, chandeliers could have been forgotten at the end of the last century if Régis Mathieu hadn't put all his energy into rediscovering them.

Just 30 minutes from Château de Fonscolombe, the collection and workshops are open to the public by appointment.

With its spectacular turquoise waters due to its clayey bottom, the Sainte-Croix Lake is the 3rd largest lake of France and the widest of the Verdon, covering an area of 2200 hectares. A nice place to relax, swim or practice water activities in a stunning unspoilt environment.
